So I was asked to speak on Pres. Uchtdorf's priesthood talk. As I expressed earlier I really had a hard time with which way to take this talk. I ended up focusing on What are the Important Things we should be focusing on. I had 4 main points that I talked about.
1.)Seek the Spirit
2.)Serve Others
3.)Try to have a balanced perspective
4.)Have Faith
I felt that my talk went really well. I usually get so nervous that I skip most of what I want to say and stumble over what I do say. This talk I felt very calm and said exactly what I wanted and needed to say. I am so glad it is over. I am defiantly not one of those people that feels comfortable speaking in public.
Just a side note* Zona got out of the car today at church and saw a pine cone on the ground (North Carolina is one huge Pine Forest) and says, "Hey mom this pine cone came from the tree. Look up (pointing at the tree) there, there's pine cones all over in the tree. Mom you didn't tell me that pine cones come from the tree." He seemed really mad at me for not telling him where pine cones come from. So don't make the same mistake I did and tell your kids that pine cones come from pine trees.

I can't believe you wouldn't tell him that!! Why?? What else are you NOT telling him?? He deserves to know these things!!
I guess my kids should only know certain things.
Im glad you felt so great about your talk, wish I could have been there, I miss you so much my friend, I hope that I will see you in Utah!! And I will def give the pine cone brief!! LOL I miss Zona and the crazy things he says. For a month after we got her Lany kept talking about the spikes in her back. It made me laugh and feel sad that they cant hang out!
