So ten years ago today Billy and I got married in the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah. I know, who knew we would last that long (well I did). For those of you who don't know we met in High School. My best friend Angela and I decided to go to a birthday party for a girl, who I can't even remember her name. We walked in and there was Billy sitting on the couch drink some nasty lemonade. We walked over to him because he was the only other guess (and he was cute). We ended up talking the rest of the night (which is the only thing that kept us at the party). From then on I saw him more often at parties and stag dances. Plus Angela started to date him and so he was in our lives a little more. After he graduated he went up to Ricks College (BYU Idaho). I started to write him letters while he was up there. He would come home for Christmas Breaks, Spring Breaks, and pretty much any break they had. I would see him every once and awhile but, we soon lost touch and I stopped writing. A couple of years later I went to a missionary home coming in his ward. On the wall they had the traditional missionary placks saying where their missionaries were servicing. Billy had gone to the St. Louis, Mission and it had his address up there. So I decided to write down his address, but it took me about two months to get up the nerve to write him. A funny little side note the same week I wrote Billy his girlfriend "Dear John'd" him. I continued (not knowing about the girl friend until way later) writing him for the last 6 months of his mission. He came home and we started to date (that's when I learn of the girlfriend). We dated for a couple of months and I decided I was going to get ready to go on my mission. So we just hung out as friends. Until one day I started to have this overwhelming desire to not go on a mission (which I had no reason not to except I just didn't feel like I should). I told Billy about it and told him I didn't know why because I wasn't in school or anything. I just didn't want to go. Billy at this point (which I did not know) was very happy and asked if he could talk to my Dad (parents) the following weekend. We had never talked of marriage while we were dating and it defiantly didn't come up in this conversation. Billy didn't want me to go on a mission, but he didn't want to be the one to stop me from going either. So when I told him I didn't feel like going he jumped at the chance. So a couple of days later Billy asked my Dad (parents) if he could marry me. Later that night he asked me. Which having 3 1/2 kids later and this being our 10th anniversary, you should know what I answered him.
I love Billy and am very grateful to have him in my life. Even though for the past (at least) 3 years he has not been with me to celebrate our anniversary (why would today be any different). He has shown me the world. I can't imagine my life without him and all he does for me (us). He is my lobster!
