Happy 4th of July

Billy Somewhere in Afghanistan
(The Sexy One, second from the left)

So when I was younger I thought the 4Th of July meant sparklers and parades. I loved/love to see the beautiful colors up in the sky. I would stand and sing the National Anthem without much feeling about it in my heart. Almost as a half hearted, thanks to those guys in the history books that helped us become a nation. I honestly had no idea what this day symbolized and how important it really is. Since Billy joined the Military I've learned more and more about this day and what it means. Each event I go to that flies our flag teaches me a little more about the sacrifices our soldiers make to keep us free. Soldiers that miss the birth of their babies or birthdays and anniversaries. Soldiers that give up watching their own children grow up to make sure someone Else's child is safe from harm. Soldiers that give up their lives so that mine is safe and free. I can't stand and say the pledge or sing the National Anthem now without my heart and eyes filling up. I can't look at the flag and not be proud of my husband and men just like him that give up so much for me. Yes the men in History books have made our country, but men like my husband keep it safe and OURS. So today or even tomorrow or the next day stop and remember.....I mean really remember what the 4Th of July means to you. And if it's half hearted like I use to be, maybe take sometime and learn more about our great country and the men and women that fight to keep it that way.

Billy thank you for all that you do, we miss you and keep safe!!! !
